Ethiopia is a land of spectacular geographical formations, where rare indigenous animals roam free, bird life abounds and colorful wild flowers and native plants carpet the land.
The country is made even more enjoyable by a uniquely comfortable, temperate climate. The visitor is assured months of sunshine and yet temperatures are refreshingly mild because of the altitude of the central plateau.
Suggested Itineraries of Trekking in the Semien Mountain National Park
Day 1 After breakfast, drive from Gondar to Sankaber-Jinbar road of the Simien Mountains/The Roof of Africa/ and turn left to start the real trekking. Then, trek to Geech. O/n Camping at Geech camp for two nights.
Day 2 A.M. Trek from Geech to Imet-gogo one of the beautiful sites. P.M., trek around Geech to the sites called Seha'a and Kedadit. O/n Camping Geech.
Day 3 Trek from Geech to Chenek. O/n camping.
Day 4 Trek from Chenek to Ambiko. O/n Camping.
Day 5 Trek from Ambiko to Ras Dashen, the highest peak of the Simien Mountains 4620m ASL. Then back to Ambiko for an overnight, camping.
Day 6 Trek from Ambiko to Chenek. O/n Camping.
Day 7 Trek from Chenk to Amba-Ras or Sankaber and then pick up by car to drive to Gondar. O/n Gondar.
Day 8 You can end you tour here or can continue to visit the Historic Route of Ethiopia in combination with the trekking trip.
